Woo Huey Yong

Woo Huey Yong is a Singaporean visual arts and animation educator with over 14 years of higher-education teaching experience across Raffles Design Institute (Coventry University programmes), Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and the Institute of Technical Education. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Animation from Sheridan Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, Canada, and teaches animation, drawing, figure drawing, anatomy, sculpture, character design, storyboarding, and art history. Under his mentorship, students have realised their full potential and achieved outstanding grades.
Animation Showcase
Coffee John is a coffee merchant whose business was affected by the recession. He was approached by a coffee cartel to engage in price-fixing. After considering the facts, he refused to join the cartel and helped to expose the cartel instead. By focusing on innovation and productivity, his business flourished.
Coffee John is a personal animation project created using a storybook illustrative style. Adobe Flash and After Effects are the main tools used for animation. The project garnered the Grand Prize in the animation contest organised by the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore in 2014.
2D Showreel showcases traditional hand-drawn animation and applied animation principles.

Shelldon Episode 9
In Episode 9, Shelldon managed to score the winning goal in the rugby match against the Giants. This storyboard was created at Tiny Island Pte Ltd while employed as the Storyboard Lead. The 3D TV series Shelldon was subsequently extended by six episodes.
