Woo Huey Yong

Woo Huey Yong is a Singaporean visual arts and animation educator with over 14 years of higher-education teaching experience across Raffles College (Coventry University programmes), Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and the Institute of Technical Education. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Animation from Sheridan Institute, Canada, and teaches animation, drawing, figure drawing, anatomy, sculpture, character design, storyboarding, and art history. Under his mentorship, students have realised their full potential and achieved top grades.
Coffee John
Coffee John is a coffee merchant who didn't fall prey to the Cartel's temptations. He exposed the Cartel and used automation to save his failing business. The concept uses a storybook illustration style for a whimsical effect. Adobe Flash, AfterEffects and Premiere were used in the production. The animation was awarded the Grand Prize in the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore Animation Contest 2014.
The Lazers
The Lazers are a pair of couple who didn't like dishwashing, so they plotted against each other to see who would win in the end. The initial concepts were too heavy for hand-drawn animation. Hence, they were adapted for rubber hose animation. This is the final year project in Sheridan College in 2008.
Girratopus
Girratopus is a hybrid creature design demonstration for Ngee Ann Polytechnic diploma students. It is a hybrid of the giraffe and the octopus. I revamped the Animal Anatomy module with industry-level assignments on anatomy and movement mechanics.
